I have two. Both are signed by Justin Hurwitz. Does anyone know how many were signed by him through the Amazon preorders?
Hugifyn
Still available new from official website for $22.98: https://lalaland.shop/products/la-la-land-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-blue Got my copy today!

I bought my third copy today because the other two had dimples on both sides. Aaaaaannnnd this one too. The pressing quality is awful !

Side 2 instead of 1My copy has the label of the side one on the side two and vice versa for the other side. How could it be?!

My blue vinyl copy sounds great, no issues with noise / echo / etc as others have reported. But the end of track 5 on side 2, the audition song, seems to have been clipped off. Emma Stone pauses and is about to sing "....again", and it just cuts off abruptly. Don't know if the digital version does this as the included download coupon won't work because I'm not in the US.....but apart from that I'm very happy, having expected a terrible sounding record from all the problems reported below....guess I got lucky!

Well mastered - tonally balanced and decent dynamic range.Pressing quality is abysmal. Several noticeable dimples on Side 1. Dirt in the grooves on Side 2 right out of the sleeve. Both sides off center. Distortion towards the end of Side 1 (using an AT440MLa so it isn't the needle's fault). Very very noisy vinyl. Really poor quality vinyl for such good music.

The copy I just picked up from B&N has BOTH barcodes on it, one for Blue, the other for Black, and the "blue vinyl" sticker on the front. I'm afraid to open it. Is the warping/noise on all the Blue versions? Is it worth the risk to open-because B&N doesn't let you return vinyl as far as I know.
Nahelm
Thanks, that's exactly like mine! I was kinda torn, because the Blue is nice looking of course, but if the Black sounds nicer, I'll take quality over looks. I'll open it, and if it is the black one, I know I have a good pressing free of flaws. If it is the Blue one, I can hope the pressing error didn't affect all copies, and can be satisfied knowing mine is prettier and probably more limited then the others ;D

My copy (black vinyl) also came from B&N. The printed barcode was for the blue vinyl version, with a sticker of the black vinyl version stuck on top of it (but still underneath the original shrink wrap). It had the "blue vinyl" sticker on the front. If you're looking for a black vinyl, I'd say you've probably got one. Not sure on B&N's return policy though.

Who cut and pressed the EU vinyl or is it the same as US? Thanks.

And one more thing - that new copy of blue vinyl I bought in Europe is centered, the previous blue one I ordered from amazon.com plays off-center.

Gonna reply to my own question here. Bought the supposed EU vinyl last week here in Europe - its not an EU pressing, it is the exact same copy of the blue LP vinyl I ordered from amazon.com couple of months ago. The only difference is that it doesnt have that blue sticker on it. Very weird.

Just bought a copy at a local store...had the "Special Edition Blue Vinyl" hype sticker...opened it up to find black vinyl. I guess they put the wrong sticker on some number of copies? Kind of annoying...
Fararala
The same thing just happened to me, it's super disappointing. I probably would have held off on buying it if it wasn't for that sticker. :/

I have an interesting one... I purchased one at my local record store that they ordered last year. It was stickered as having the blue vinyl special edition inside. The sticker is B0025619-01 and the record itself is engraved with B0025619-01-A-RC1... But it's black vinyl. I've contacted Universal Music Group to see what the problem might have been, as I'm rather confused.

There were *far* more than 75 copies of this sold. The initial listing specified that only 75 copies were available, but that wasn't accurate. It stayed available for nearly 24 hours and the Facebook post for the signed record generated thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. In addition to that, they re-listed the item *again* and there were nearly 1000 copies of the signed version once again made available. It didn't sell out for a while (days). This second batch of signed records are just now shipping out.
Moogura
Would love to be contacted if anyone is selling one of these at a more reasonable price. Would give you a fair offer!
Wishamac
I'm happy with my copy. Yes there are some pops and clicks here and there but I do not buy records to pick apart what is wrong with them sonically. Record pressing is a dead art anyway unless you are a ka-zillion dollar band like the beatles with millions of dollars to manufacture a perfect sounding record.

Glad I was keeping an eye on this... I was just able to purchase this autographed version on their website... It switched to sold out after I purchased a copy... maybe only had 1 or 2 to sell at this time... Hoping it doesn't get cancelled :)
FEISKO
Ok I got this in blue vinyl but idk if it's just my setup, I find that there's a noticeable surface noise on this especially on louder parts of the tracks...I literally stood up and said WTF and went to clean it, stylus and all but THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. I really love this movie and soundtrack but I have mixed feelings about this record. I would love to know if the black vinyl is better !
Winail
According to the stats, 61 people on Discogs own this, but only 75 were released!
Puchock
There was a second batch sold, they haven't stated how many were sold but the original batch only 75 were released.
Gavinranadar
Hard to take the prices on these re-sales seriously. You can still purchase the blue copy for $23.00! I don't think the composer's signature is worth $370+ (no offense to the composer!)...I'm willing to spend $100 if anyone is looking to get rid of theirs!
Hap
There's one on ebay, auction starting at $70. Might get lucky.
Nicearad
My blue Vinyl is top pressing. No surface noise or crackle.
Hirah
I got my blue vinyl- EXTREMELY NOISY. The actual music sounds decent, but there is an unbelievable amount of surface noise. Side 1 is pressed extremely off center, so the frequencies fluctuate like crazy. Worst of all... the most emotional part of the entire soundtrack- the final piano notes to 'Epilogue' are inexplicably cut off. Anyone who has seen the movie will know these final notes conjure very powerful images, and on the CD soundtrack they remain. For some reason, the vinyl erases those notes in order to segue into the next track. This completely destroys the purpose of it.If you are a fan of the film, avoid this record.
Jieylau
Rumored to be between 500-1000 copies of this. According to some vinyl sites ive read.
DireRaven
Bought Amazon for 16€ blue vinyl now 20€ but still in stock
Dancing Lion
Blue vinyl has terrible pre and post groove echo, on both sides. This pre-groove echo can easily be heard before intros (even passages such as the insane trumpet solo in the middle of 'epilogue', you can hear the orchestra swing back into action a full revolution before it swings in properly!), and on pauses in the middle of some tracks. The post-groove echo is easily heard at the end of some of the songs with a big finale. It's also a really noisy pressing. Also, track 3 of side 2 just ends so abruptly! The blue pressing is worth avoiding, IMO.
