To be honest when I first heard winter I thought it was dire and rejected it straight back to the shop-keep. After a late night session in the studio at the end of my mates garden I was forced to look and listen to this record in a different light. My friend played the record at 33rpm and it sounded awesome, something completely different to the euro-trance that was reproduced at 45rpm. I've since gone and bought a copy and tried it myself and it still sounds so much better, so much deeper at 33rpm, nice to know that it wasn't all in the mind then, I think....

God damn it ! I've had this one for years (and loved it for years), and I had never thought to play it at 33rpm. Just adjusted the pitch to +2, but fuck, now this sounds like some old 80's track... Thx for this tip ! :)

Now THAT's a real deep house head !!!!!

Been a Aril Brikha fan since his starts, and I cant believe some of the bad comments and low ratings from people considering this release. This is neo-trance effect full on, but why should it be bad? Winter is such a deep track, emotive, full of great soundscapes and melody driven. This release is worth buying just for it. The B-Side Berghain is amazing track too, driven by great sequenzed bass sound and with that aril brikha touch of melody and emotion. One of my favourites of 2007, a massive release and warm reccomendation. That goes for his album Ex Machina that followed this release!

Neo-Trance on full effect here. We can easily see that Aril chose to switch his path on Electronic Dance Music universe with this release. This is far away from the original deepness, perhaps after him releasing those timeless transmat-fragile releases, we always would have such high expectations out of his up-coming releases that there would be no satisfaction ever... unless he would decide to go back to his roots.
