Remixes! You either love them or hate them, and for Slam's ALIEN RADIO REMIXED, there's more reason for love. H-Foundation's rasta-house approach to "Lifetimes" might not really hold a candle to the original, but Silicone Soul stays pretty close in its darkness, similar to how Tony Thomas heavies up "Alien Radio." Funk D'Void and The Youngsters both give a deep tech-house rub to "Virtuoso," while Rolando offers a more straight-up house take. Josh Wink goes more spare and atmospheric on "Positive Education." Both Darren Emerson and Paul Daley steep "Alien Radio" in pure techno, but if you want weird electro, then the Two Lone Swordsmen's slashing of "Visions" will be right up your alley. UNKLE gives a rock-infused lift to "Narco Tourists," and to close out the album, Slam brighten up their own "Virtuoso." A nice collection, but not essential.
