This is actually a awesome, hardcore electro album, which comes from Claus's actual love of the original songs. Babydoll and sexdwarf are two of the best sounding industrial/darkwave tracks you will hear. Its not pretensison at all, just a cool tribute that in my mind kicks the shit out of soft cell. It also features some of Claus's best vocal performances. It was not made to be a retread, but a reworking of the songs in the leatherstrip style. Everyone i know loved the sexdwarf track as a dancfloor stomper, and i know my Industrial music. Heil the Leather, and strip baby, strip!

Incredible how self-indulgent a one can be... If you happen to make a cover-album, make sure you put some soul into it. It's actually quite stupid how people like Leaether Strip (albeit they made some favourable rhythms in the past) try to create or better, relocate Soft Cell as a more perverse or intimidating image than its original pop-standard already is, aiming subversion into pop-tendency as conceived by the original duo and with its original charm which Leaether Strip poorly always missed. So what's the use with this set? A question not so tough, huh? Instead, try listening to the original, it'll do far more justice to Soft Cell than Leather Strip's pathetic attempt to splinter them from mainstream, part of which Almond and Ball inevitably and always were - nevermind their involvements with Psychic TV, Current 93, Coil, Virgin Prunes or The Immaculate Comsumptive.
