The tracklist on the inlay doesn't assign numbers to the three "Transmission" interludes so it only runs from track 1 to 13 while the CD actually has 16 indexed tracks as given above. Green sticker on jewel case front gives artist, title, label and catalog number.

The sticker on some copies lists the album title as 'Entroducing.....'.

Issued in a standard jewel case with fold out insert.

This is a post 2000 reissue as indicated by the press plant being Sony DADC (introduced in 2000).

Concur with most people here. Going off the matrix runout and the black labels, that would signify the 2002 edition.

I agree with crock7. The version i have has the black labels instead of green and yellow and i bought it in the States back around 2002, most likely at a Virgin Megastore, i can't remember exactly but i've had it awhile. I came on here (discogs) to see what version i had and was confused to see that Discogs couldn't tell me when it was released based on the matrix runout on this reissue being the same as the original. I believe that the 2002 reissue has black labels, matte finish, all that stuff just like steamybrown2003 said and the photos on here show the labels from the original. Thanks for the info btw.

I agree with what has been said by steamybrown2003 but would like to add that my heat sealed copy of the 2002 version did not have a hype-sticker. Main sleeve is matte, as previously mentioned. Black labels. Mastering is great.

It is very difficult to be able to tell the difference between the original 96' release and this 2002 repress when sealed. They look almost identical right down to the green hype-sticker on the cover. Aside from the runouts and labels, the inner sleeves and main sleeve are also different. The main sleeve of this 2002 repress has a semigloss/matte finish, the original 96' release comes in a high gloss picture sleeve with glossy inners. Ultimately the mastering on the 96', 2002, and the recent 20th all appear to be the same, although the original is cut a tad louder than the others...

What distinguishes this reissue from the original 1996 pressing? I understand that the original pressing was distributed by FFRR in the U.S. while the 2002 reissue was distributed in the US by A&M. That said, the photos uploaded on Discogs for both releases are identical. I've pored over them and can't find a single detail on the cover, inner sleeve or label that differs between them. From what I've read online, it seems like the reissue with the "unknown" release date (with black labels instead of green and yellow labels) is actually the 2002 reissue and the photos provided for the 2002 reissue here are actually photos of the original pressing. All I'd like to do is distinguish the 2002 from the 1996 (ideally, without having to use the original green sticker that came on the 1996 pressing).

I can't see mine anywhere on the vinyl pictures, it has black labels and was bought in UK but I can't remember when I bought it. It's definitely a repress but I don't think it's 180g (from memory, I'll dig it out when I get home to check cats).

So is their any difference between the reissue and the original? Which one is the definitive/best release?
Lightwind
Looks to me like someone screwed up, and possibly entered all of the 2002 reissue information into the 1996 release page—or maybe just cloned the two. My copy has black inner labels and only "697-124-123-1 A" etched in the runout. The "RE-1" does not appear anywhere in the runout.
