Next to "Die Weiße Rose", it's the strongest work of Les Joyaux De La Princesse.The later albums, although more sophisticated and varied, have nothing compared with the atmosphere created in these thirty or so minutes.I can listen to this album over and again and each time feel more from it; "Automne 1941" is amongst the most melancholy compositions of all time.Beautiful packaging also... I'm very proud to have this ear of wheat in my collection!

As usual for Les Joyaux De La Princesse, the package is absolutely amazing. The black box with silver lettering and its banner sealing the whole give a very special feeling to this release. The piece of corn wrapped in a French banner, the reproduction of the Vichy pampleth and all the details inside evoke the tragic period of history Erik is so fascinated with. The music is, I have to say, not as outstanding as in most of his other releases, but this is in the end a reprint of the very first cassette work, dating back to 1988 or so. Lo-fi industrial ambient music with a touch of melancholy and sadness. Extremely sought-after today!
