'Ay Mami' samples the class break from Debbie Malone's 'Rescue Me' https://www.discogs.com/master/view/101284 which of course samples Lynn Collins 'Think'. For those that don't know the whole EP, its a cross cultural NY block party classic with a latin twist, and quite a rarity until the 2004 reissues turned up. Its an odd mix of class Hip-Hop breaks, Latin vocals & percussion, with a great deal of DIY charm. It never saw a full scale Celluloid release at the time. Bill Laswell definitely had nothing to do with this one, This is the work of Hip Hop/house producer Jose 'Choco' Reynoso

Run-off etching (v light hand-etch) reads 'cel 192', though label reads 'cel 193'.

Spot the original (1986?) 12": OG issue has very light hand etchings- CEL 192 Europadisk DMM S-1 ... NOT 'CEL 193' as written in the release notes above. One smaller inner label die-mount circle, as pictured for this release, WITHOUT the additional gentle wider circle as per the two unofficial releases. Also worth remembering these tracks were 'knocked up' & sampled used records for the breaks, so light pops here & there are present in the recording, especially during 'I hope It Rains Coffee'. Still sounds great. Haven't heard the reissues so no comment on quality for either of the later versions. The true original is hard to come by, so be vigilant...

Bad sound quality! Please dont support such a wack bootleg.
