Dangerous
Coral reefs, oceanscapes and vast sandy coastlines... Don't let yourself be put off by the imo sketchy intro (oriental singing + vocal sample on Gaia and reincarnation = ouch!) Picked up this CD out of sheer luck in a small Paris store (knowing zilch about this project, and for a very sweet price ;) wasn't too convinced by the manga-inspired artwork but soon got sucked into the album's dominant color: blue... Not blue in a sad or melancholic way, blue as a fusion of skies and seas, wide vistas drenched in both sunshine and fullmoonlight. Nice pumping trance on the proggy side with generous slabs of silky psychedelia - the sound got me riding an amphibious aircraft, taking off along a white strand, gliding at high speed over lines and lines of breakers, eventually plunging into the deep to groove with those funky Coral City people. Was I influenced by the songs' names? Most definitely!! But beyond this: the artist really managed to build a coherent and evocative sonic world filled with positive vibes. What a nice surprise!
