Doomwarden
The versatile singer/songwriter Elvis Costello made in the 1970s and 1980s a number of excellent new wave and pop albums. In the 1990s he experimented with music styles like jazz and classical music and he collaborated with Burt Bacharach and Anne Sofie Von Otter. In early 2002 he returned with it fine When I Was Cruel back to the familiar sound of his backing band The Attractions. The two main Attractions (Steve Nieve and Pete Thomas) is reflected in The Imposters, with which Costello made the ' snack ' Cruel Smile. The album contains two versions of the new single Smile as well as a number of excellent remixes and studio outtakes. Particularly strong are the live versions of Almost Blue, Uncomplicated, Watching The Detectives and My Funny Valentine. With Cruel Smile proves Elvis Costello that also a snack can taste very good.
