Most of the music in the game seamlessly loops so the tracks are mostly repeated just over twice before either fading out or ending properly.

I partially agree with blade_sk, some of the samples on this soundtrack do sound out of place, but I think these were part of the song originally. Some are also mixed too loud so they sit on top rather than in the music. Since I played the game for a short time about 30 minutes ago on a PC emulator after not playing this for about a decade, I don't recognize which sounds are the samples that are tied to the actual gameplay and which are part of the music (mostly, some samples are obviously out of place and were added on top, and were used as game sound effects).Generally, this is a generic album of generic music. Think of it as some songs are like they are from a bad film soundtrack and some are bad techno just using sample packs, but I still like music as generic as this just to zone out to. Probably not worth tracking down though.

This soundtrack has one fatal flaw - there are game sounds playing over the actual music. While that makes sense in the game, where the sounds are tied to your actions and quantized to match the music, it feels very out of place on an actual album. It doesn't help either that they're arranged somewhat heavy-handedly and the actual music is muted.

There's one vital thing this soundtrack is missing: the licensed songs. It was tracks like Mondo Grosso's "Shining" and Eri Nobuchika's "Lights" that are missed out of this 2CD package which are why I fell in love with the music on this game! This was a huge disappointment for me when I bought the CD. Those songs aside, the soundtrack is still fairly enjoyable but most of the tracks aren't particularly memorable.
