What the hell, I have this copy of Saucerful the cover is stereo version (scx 6258) first press and the record inside is mono version (Sx 6358) first press Made in Uk. Black label e blue Capitol logo. Can somebody explain this? The record was under distribuition of Italian EMI.

In the seventies an eight track tape was available with both Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets on one tape!Iwill say some of the music on this tape was pretty obscure and definitely could be described as a bunch of deranged acid munching burn outs.A favorite of mine is Corporal Clegg with a thunderous bass line in the record,it certainly grabbed My attention.

A truly majestic transition period of Pink Floyd is shown in "A Saucerful of Secrets": from the psychedelic side from Syd Barrett to the rest of the band's experimental ages that come after. So, this release is no thing for those who want "Conventional" rock from the era... that's means is no Beatles, Who, Rollings Stones or Zeppelin, or whatever you can think about. This is far more Avant-Garde to every guy who can't stand "weird music". You're warned.Artistically, this album takes the damn cake. It got all: psychedelic rock travels ("Let There Be More Light","Remember A Day", "Corporal Clegg"), calm -but cosmic- ballads ("Set the Controls For The Heart Of The Sun", "See-Saw"; this last one really sounds like NOTHING that the band has ever recorded); and the whole weird-stoner side on the title track: you won't be able to apreciate it without further explorations on the Avant-Garde music, noise music, etc; After 28 years of listening to it, it still get me goosebumps.Oh, and there is the sad, crazy ballad of "Jugband Blues", that seems to have a cult following it. Syd Barrett really performed a song with sadness, a message, and the sound distorsion that you can take how you want it, because you got to extract your own conclusions about it to get it right.And just look at the artwork... Surely is one of the most great covers i've ever seen. Another work by Hipgnosis.Artistically, A Saucerful Of Secrets should get a lot of praise and attention. But, sure, there is no commercial hits here; that makes this album "Boring", or "Weird"... yeah, you know how the music industry works. Pink Floyd really published what they want to produce in here (Or at least almost, who knows). And that's priceless.
