Maybe I just hang out with the wrong people, but what an underrated gem. I mean, this is roots rock in the truest sense. It's country and folky and just an all around good time. Hootenanny level in some more mellow sense. I'd have a hard time imagining a more honest record being made. This is the dream here. Everyone has it. Getting together with friends to play in a band and make a record, ideally in a barn or somewhere with a familiar and comfortable vibe, where everything walks hand in hand.It's got a compelling live feel. These guys are having fun together as well as writing a serious song full of tasty licks and warm inviting melodies. There is a true energy to this. It's something lacking on most modern records trying to emulate roots rock. You should be playing this in between Fairport Convention - Liege & Lief and Bobby Charles - Bobby Charles. A lot of you already realize this, but if you don't, here it is. Fairport in fact coverMare Take Me Home. As do others. A brilliant track.It is not the easiest thing to pick other favorites. Can't Sit And Watch Little Susie Laugh or maybe Paint And Powder Ladies No. 2. Every song is really so likeable to me.Also worth checking out if into this is Al Anderson (2) - Al Anderson
