How come there's no listing for the original 1959 release? This second release states that it has a different track listing, but yet we don't seem to have any info on the original track listing to compare it to. I'm asking because I seem to have a copy that isn't represented in discogs and I'm wondering if I may have a 1959 original sitting in my lap. My gut tells me it's the 1964 second release but the label is slightly different with no horizontal "white lines", otherwise the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Boyn
any body know which vinyl versions have the 1963 recordings

Don't be confused by the sleeve: this is the 1967 stereo re-recording of the album, released in the 1959 and 1964 sleeve. It would have been nice if there had been at least a sticker to that effect.
DrayLOVE
are you sure it's not the 1964 re-recording? the discogs page lists Waterfall as being the 10 minute version, which is only on the 1964 album, and is shorter on the 1967 one.

How does something get to be 530 dollars after having a median price of 59.95? Holy smokes. Anyone curating a folk museum?
FLIDER
This is the original Piedmont/Takoma press. Which means it has a slightly different track listing. More importantly, a few of the tracks are completely different takes than the ones on all subsequent vinyl presses (excluding some recent boots of questionable audio quality).

The inner labels have 3 song title errors as well."On Doing ALL Evil Deed Blues" instead of "An"missing the THE on "The Transcendental Waterfall", and the BLUES on "Sun Gonna Shine On My Back Door Someday Blues"

John Fahey´s guitar speaks the language of children - simple, direct, honest. No messages because there IS only one message. He speaks with the urgency of now, because that´s all there is - the now of infinitely repeated sadness and joy. Emotions of the head. Fahey - American traveller through music, the gentle music of man. Fahey gives strength to face the end. Or the beginning... He doesn´t scream. It´s all there anyway, but he knows it, and says it. See, in America you can sit and listen to music for 99 years saying, "What´s it mean?". And never know. But Fahey tells it... What´s nice to hear, though, is the way he does it. It´s beautiful but it´s so much fun too. Peaceful fun, though; not the same fun as cracking kids over the head with nightsticks. That´s America - but it isn´t John Fahey. He´s the plains and the rivers and the mountains and the buffalo, the America of peace and beauty that´s always been there. He´s not Johnny Pissoff. He´s popcorn and Popeye, Kerouac and Corso, righteous policeman of the American dream - the down-there-at-the-bottom dream of simplicity, peace and every man his own music. Fahey; the American revolution of love. Love and pies.
