_Notions of Tonality, Vol. 1_ continues Beaumont Hannant's musical explorations into IDM. The fragility of "RS 364C" is somewhat belied by its beats, but "Hum" warbles gracefully, showcasing Hannant's skill at sound manipulation, adding in a steel drum-like melody. "Neville Hill Depot" is marvelously perky, with its solid 4/4 beat and jaunty little tune, while the slow, languorous "The Morning After" is the musical portrait of the hangover you wish you'd never experienced.
