I own 4 of the BGP Pleasure CD re-issues, and while they sound good on the surface, they all have been given the brick-walling mastering treatment which has become so commonplace these days. The dynamic range has been compromised in order to boost the overall loudness. Better to stick with the original FANTASY issued cd's for these.
Ylal
It's nice to finally have this great album on cd, but the mastering is a bit disappointing. Typical industry practices such as brick walling and over-compression are present, as well as an over-boosted low end.
Kamuro
It's overcompressed/limited, as all this label's re-issues of Pleasure are. Not sure what you are talking about regarding the guitar solo.
Nikojas
Incorrect. All BDP Pleasure issues exhibit the same brick-walling.
Ynonno
The mastering is excellent on this CD. It's the butchering of "Future Now" which saw an inexplicable curb of McClain's guitar solo.
