I own this a really don't feel the 2 channel SACD portion is that big of an improvement over the original European CD: http://www.discogs.com/Propaganda-A-Secret-Wish/release/433614 First off, this was an early all digital recording that was recorded at 16 bit/44.1khz (CD standard) so a DSD transfer of this will not add any more quality than the CD already had. Now they may have done some eq or other processing which makes it appear to sound better. Bottomline, don't spend a lot on this hoping to have a big improvement on an already great sounding disc, this should only appeal to those who are into multichannel (which I haven't listened to so I can't comment).

I don't think the 2 channel layer is an improvement either. Some of the tracks are just mixed differently. Now for the Multi-Layer Level.... wow! This is one of the best sounding SACD's that I own. Huge sound! I have listened to it through both traditional rca set up and DSD, and sound either way is mind blowing. If you don't have a surround system that will play this disc as it was manufactured for, get one. It would be worth it alone.Set up:Sony STR-DA5500ES 7.1 ReceiverSony BDP-S570 Blu-Ray PlayerKlipsch RF 35 (Fronts)Klipsch RC 35 (Center)Klipsch RB 35 (Rear)2 Klipsch RW 10 Subs

Way back in 1986 when I first bought the record, and then the CD, it quickly became some of my favorite driving music. I'd get in the car back in Minneapolis where I lived at that time, leave the city for some open road, crank up the volume, and hit the gas. What a rush! "A Secret Wish" is definitely one of my favorite synth pop albums along with Simple Minds "New Gold Dream", Human League "Dare" and Heaven 17 "Penthouse & Pavement". They never equalled the brittle, Teutonic majesty and snare beats of this beauty ever again. And it's symphonic on top of that. Claudia Brucken's icy and staccato vocals never sounded this good. Nice contibutions from Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17 and Steve Howe of Yes (!) add to the delight. It's being remastered with an extra CD of remixes in July 2010, but I have to say this SACD version is going to be hard to top. Love it!
