The Who - Live At The Fillmore East 1968 FLAC download

I believe the following songs on the officially-sanctioned release are actually from different performances than appeared on the Sunrise cd.A Quick One, While He's AwayMy WayShakin' All OverBoris The SpiderMy GenerationI accept that the official cd is completely taken from the show of 6 April 1968. So I wonder if the corresponding performances of the above songs on the Sunrise cd are from 5 April 1968?"Relax" on the Sunrise cd appears to be the same performance as on the official release but is truncated to 8.08.I also think that some of the performances identical on the official release and the Sunrise cd sound better on the latter!!

this is a beautiful 3 lp set of most all songs played at the fillmore east back in april 1968, i still dont know why it took 50 years for this to be released as i have many lp/cd bootleg copies of this show for years, of coarse since bob pridden mixed this this version is the best, this album is a better live who album then both live at leeds and live at the isle of wight................................i have both us and euro lp versions as well as the shm japan mastered cd set......................

this is the european version of the already classic new live who 3 lp set lp that was released OFFICIALLY just about a month ago, i got the us copy first and i just got the euro copy today, the eu copy is nicer i feel that it is a straight up gatefold sleeve and does not have the panels the us edition has, the inner sleeves are the same and so is the label minus the geffen name, this is a monster show and as i have stated many times regarding all the cd and lp bootlegs i have collected over the years of this show that i feel this is THE BEST LIVE WHO SHOW now officially released!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is raw, heavy who pre tommy unlike live at leeds and live at the isle of wight, it is fantastic to finally have this as an official release to bad the first two opening tracks could not be restored (substitute & pictures of lily) but you get c, mon everybody wich NEVER made any of the boot copies of this that have floated around for some 45 years now..................................this is the lp version to get!

FYI the first two tracks are missing, "only fragments of them were captured on tape" ; but don't worry they will cash on it again later from "recently unearthed [other] tapes" like The Doors management did with the Matrix tapes...

this is the official live at the fillmore east us pressing that was released on 4/20/18, to bad it took 50 years for a none bootleg version of this to come out, this is pressed on thick 180g vinyl and opens up to the same 1968 photo as the cd version does, this has nice inner sleeves with liner notes and all, this was a very long overdue release!!!!!!!!!!!! i have been a who fan for almost 4 decades and i want to go on record as saying that this show BLOWS AWAY LIVE AT LEEDS AND LIVE AT THE ISLE OF WIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! those shows where monsters no doubt but since i first got a soundboard decent sounding boot of this gig back in 1979 THIS WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE and just look at the set list, LITTLE BILLY, C,MON EVERYBODY AND one of the best live versions of FORTUNE TELLER i have ever heard the who do on all my 60s bootlegs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT / WHY DID IT TAKE 50 YEARS????????????? i only wish this came with a booklet with the photos LINDA McCARTNEY took that night.............................

this is a super nice nice japan edition of this classic live show!!!!!!!!!!!!! for almost 4 decades now i have collected many vinyl and cd bootlegs of this show always being aware of the history of this show and the fact that is was a soundboard recording and meant to be a live album in 1968, after years of hoping this would get an official release IT FINALLY DID JUST OVER A WEEK AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the japan two cd shm remastered version of this classic gig from over 50 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! this comes in a thick fold out 6 panel digi pack sleeve with a booklet that explains this show in japanese, the booklet also has the lyrics to every song in both japanese and english and both of these shm remastered discs make this sound better then it ever has since i got my first vinyl bootleg of this show in 1979, the only let down is the first two opening songs of this evening could not be restored as the tape was destroyed in that part, the who opened up with SUBSTITUTE & PICTURES OF LILY...................... those two tracks also never appeared on ANY bootleg of this gig over the years. what does appear on here that was NEVER ON any of the bootlegs is the who doing c,mon everybody wich they only did live a few times in the 60s and one of those times was THIS GIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and finally it appears on this official release. also the band only did the lost who gem LITTLE BILLY on april 5th and 6th 1968 at the fillmore east and you get the second version on this disc wich was from the second night april 6th, the who never did little billy live again............. for years i have been saying that if this show was ever released officially it blows both live at leeds and live at the isle of wight away. that remains more true now with the ultimate sound here on shm remastered discs and that reality finally happened for me WITH THIS RELEASE........................................... the next great dream official who release for me would be both of these shows LIVE SOUNDBOARD LARGO DECEMBER 1973 & LIVE SOUNDBOARD PHILADELPHIA DECEMBER 73 as both have been around as bootlegs in many lp & cd formats for decades and like the fillmore gig i own so many lp and cd versions of those boots, i forget but the largo or phili gig went out live on the air the night of the original gig way back in 73.......................anyway this japan edition sounds even better then the uk edition, i would call this the ultimate edition next to the two lp version................
