Can anyone comment on the pressing quality of this release? Saw it was pressed by GZ and have had bad luck with them before usually pops in the record.

Sounds great! Quiet pressing and you can hear the bass.

there are unnumbered copies! does anybody know why? also some with golden or silver printed numbers.

They are numbered on the back cover, toward the bottom. The gold stamped number is the number out of 2,000 made.

This is a much better album than Universal Themes, which felt like an overcorrection reaction to the success of Benji. He is back on track here with much less emotion than Benji (from a familiar perspective) but has still decided to address things associated with the human condition, as seen from his cynical, yet often empathetic, standpoint.

I can only assume this is going to be painful to listen to (as in bad song-writing painful, not because it will make me sad or anything) yet I still somehow ended up pre-ordering it. Now I will stare at it on my shelf and probably never get around to spin it.

Kozelek's freestyle record? Minimal and spatial, this is gonna take some time to digest, but even though my first listen was a bit jarring due to the lack of the more narrative work that marked 'Benji's,' inviting storytelling, as here Kozelek's Sun Kil Moonn moniker moves further from 'Ghosts....', 'April,' etc. LP's structured beauty, but still a great listen wiht 'I love Portugal' my favorite on this 4 LP set. A continued evolution from the always fascinating Mr. Kozelek, and I do love his Joycean daily life observations and punk-rock-angry politics...I also think this is the most liberal use of the word 'fuck' by a 50 year old man on one record ever...maybe.

Lovely pressing. Great music. Can't go wrong unless you miss out on one of the 2000 at retail price. Several copies available at Amoeba SF today.

I pre-ordered at Amazon and received it today. As of now, they still have it in stock for $40. I got #588.

Check eBay. It's flipping prices, but some of them are reasonable, I think. I doubt you're going to get anything for a better price point.

2k copies is a decent amount and his popularity is going way downhill lately with his new style. So don't pay flipper prices. Especially when stores like Bullmoose have them ready to ship, and still have them listed to order.

Amoeba, Bullmoose, Silver Platters are all taking pre-orders. I don't think this 4LP will be as hot as "Benji".

I really hope this album gets a vinyl release! This album and Benji are his two best works of the century.
