Ivan Popov - the Russian boy from Moscow, the youngest pop star in the world. His First hit "Drill-Pinocchio" recorded at the age of 4 years. It was an absolute world record for the age of the performer, and was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records" for 1991. The album "Vanya Popov - a New star" was released on "Melodies" in 1992.
The album gave the song "New star", which was written specially for Vanya Popov, Alexander Malinin (music) and Mikhail Tanich (verses). In the record, together with Vanya was attended by stars: Alla Pugacheva, Valery Leontiev, Laima Vaikule, Larisa Dolina, Alexander Malinin, Alexander Serov and Sergei chelobanov. The premiere took place on 1 channel Ostankino in the program "new year party - 91". The content of the song is symbolic - a change of generations on the stage, the infinity of art, old stars pass the baton to new, young, rising.

Almost all the other tracks from "Vanya Popov - a New Star" was written specially for Wani Vitaly Okorokov (well known as the producer of the group "the Combination"):

All songs of the album hit the charts, music videos rotated on the leading TV channels.
In the next after the release of the album of the year Ivan became the General favorite. He was constantly invited to TV shows, Newspapers and magazines published interviews. In October 1992 he first try in the role of TV presenter of the program "Rock Lesson" . Usually kid shows have to work with older TV presenters - what children considered to be such a task. The exceptions are rare. And then - 6 - year-old child! Many considered the project risky. And for good reason. From 1992 to 1995 he was the permanent host of "Rock lessons". Intelligence, open communication with the audience, great sense of humor, lively energy catchy lead defining the style of a talk show and has provided high television ratings. In those years the ratings were calculated by the number of letters coming to the transmission from the viewers. Letters coming Vanya Popov and his "Rock lessons" were so many that the employees of the postal service channel 1 in the end just refused (!) them to count. Huge bags of letters were put in studenom hall and no one could figure out what to do with them. In the end, the bags were just shot on video and determined the number of letters in them "by eye". This unique footage is preserved in the archives "Ostankino" and posted on Youtube. In 1995, 9-year-old Vanya Popov received a Grant of the Fund of World Culture and became the youngest student in the world one of the oldest conservatories in Europe. But it is the following story.
