Pumpking is an interesting compilation of singles brought to us by Rico the Wizard before his work with Le Knight Club. Most of the tracks on this album live up to the silly label name, presenting us with bouncy acid chords while 909s hammer in the background. This album isn't afraid to get aggresive however, such as with the blisteringly fast and distorted Frantic Freddy and its sequel, which is a lot slower but has a shrill alarm and an unnerving synth to make up for it. This album is mostly about having fun however, made obvious with silly tracks like "Pumpking Jack Flash" with its playful hook or the Damon Wild remix of "Space Groove", its distorted filters and train horn making it a hard tune to resist nodding your head to.There are a few good Pumpking tracks left off on this album, such as Last Train to Love by T 4 II which is a shame. However, if there's one track that makes up for its shortcomings, it's Smooth Landing. This track is about as smooth as you can get, very relaxing with its deep synths and creative use of the 909. I reccomend this album solely for Smooth Landing, it's stellar.
