Damaged Goods - Beyond Repair FLAC download

Just when it seems as if honest and exciting biographical hip-hop has gone extinct, "Beyond Repair" the debut album from Northern California’s "Damaged Goods", arrives on the scene to restore our faith in reality rap. There are a few tracks on this album where producer Cynic relies too heavily on the synths, songs that are clearly not geared toward East Coast hip-hop heads, but overall the production on "Beyond Repair" is solid. The beats are more expiremental than what you'll hear on most indie hip-hop albums, but there are some really good tracks on here, ranging from alcoholism on “Goodbye Sober Day” to relationships and infidelity “Check Yourself” and recounting stories of pub brawls “Bar Night” and confrontations with law enforcement “Badge On A Bitch”. With the release of "Beyond Repair", we now have an alternative to all the mainstream sh*t.

I gotta say, only thing I found arguable in your review was, that he relied to heavily on synths. Realisicly I found that to be the main separation in the uniqueness of the album. Not to big on 'ec' or 'wc' tbh but I do enjoy the diversity and originality of this amazing release. It's only saddening to me that I haven't seen another ;) Mad love Cinicone!
