Pelican City - Rhode Island FLAC download

If you are looking for music which will take you on a lazy and melancholic trip through your city, memories and soul it's a brilliant choice. This fusion of massive hip hop beats and "live" instruments reminds me of the early spring tension. Guitar and keyboards create a lot of great melodies of which importance, nowadays, many artists and listeners forget. The samples are also awsome even though they're not original("Sesame street" for me it's like some kind of a return). I compare this whole album to Shadow's "Midnight in the perfect world", track from "Endtroducing". It is chilling but otherwise it will not let you forget about yourself. Stay tuned!

A pleasant, yet obscure, release from 2000. The ambience is reflective, the tempo is laid back, the genre is trip hop, along the lines of DJ Shadow, UNKLE, and even Portishead, but with it uniquely offers a few subtle hints of loungy jazz. One of the best tracks is Sesame Street.

Rhode Island is a very nice downtempo release with a cinematic style in my view. The sound is a kind of sorrowful but not too much to become disturbing. The melodies are very mature (like the whole production) and clean. To me, this work brings into my mind memories from the past.
