Lee Hazlewood - Cowboy In Sweden FLAC download

My copy of this LP is pressed on heavy vinyl. It almost feels like a 180 gram pressing, but has this exact label design and original gatefold cover. Anyone else have this pressing and can confirm that it's a heavy (non-flexi) pressing?

Unfortunately LITA pressings are never as good as their sleeves reproductions. Of course, the album deserves a 10/10, but for this reissue, I would say SLEEVE: 10/10 - MEDIA: 5/10

Thanks for the heads up, I own a semi-crackly pressing from 1970 so buying this particular reissue now seems completely useless. Shame! 10/10 album indeed

The vinyl was cut very poorly. Doesn't fit well on turntable. Amazing album though.

My copy is a little off centered. Voices sound "electronically processed". There is a faint surface noise present throughout the record. There no bass at all on track A5; poor mastering...Paid 33 canadian dollars for it and I must say I'm very disapointed.Buyers beware!

Yep, and my copy comes with continuous crackings on B5,6 and 7. Very disappointed with LITA...

Probably Hazlewood's single most famous album, Cowboy In Sweden is actually a compilation of tracks meant to complement the Swedish tv program (a fantasia starring Hazlewood) of the same name. After all these years it's still safe to say that there is little other recorded music like it: it's baroque country in a soundscape drenched in echo. This cd reissue, currently the only one available, is mastered from a very worn vinyl copy, which would normally be frustrating to most listeners but here seems to add further depth; The background noise and muted dynamic range creates the impression of an ancient document recently unearthed. The fact the songs themselves are so strong means the album is endlessly playable, especially my favourite, the brief, heartbreaking Forget Marie.
