The quality of the tracks is high throughout this audio journey, reminding me very much of Photek, Vangelis, Tech Itch, Dillinja and Global Communications all rolled into one lovely package. The tracks weave in and out of D&B territory into Ambient film scores and back again melding the dance floor and chill out room styles effortlessly. The mood of the piece is clearly SciFi esque, and you can feel the weight of many influences washing over you, whilst still feeling your experiencing fresh and new material. This Album is so good and has clearly been ignored for sometime with no sales in a year. I find this hard to beleive and suggest that anyone who likes Sci-Fi Techy Drum & Bass and Ambient go and grab a copy whilst it is still cheap. Im just glad I stumbled upon it.

Ever since his track off Human "Machine March" dropped in Dieselboy's "Human Resource" mix, I've been following SPKTRM's tunes off Evol Intent, Soothslayer, and Habit. His hard-as-nails production style stands out from other contemporaries such as Counterstrike, Current Value, etc due to his ability to combine darkness with progression, as too often this subgenre of Drum n Bass drops with maximum impact, then the track simply repeats for 5 minutes, maybe adding an amen or an extra snare on the 2nd drop. SPKTRM's tracks, on the other end, take you for a sadistic ride, switching up enough throughout the tune to keep your brain working, rather than just wanting to bash your head into the wall with every snare-roll. "Android Dreams" is by far his deepest production to date, leaning more towards dark drumfunk rather than 4/4 hardcore like so many of his contemporaries. The ambience on the first and last tracks are incredible soundscapes, letting the listener travel to places I didn't know existed. I can't wait to hear what SPKTRM has in store for us in the future, but right now I'm simply enjoying this LP on constant rotation on my decks, and I highly recommend purchasing a copy. 5/5 stars without having to think twice.
