This split 12’’ offers the raw magic and gold simplicity of Bonnie & Klein on the A Side and an extended organic percussion session by BlackBush Orchestra's on the other side.Beautifully layered, superbly arranged Bonnie & Klein's ''Motmot'' has that Greece's something when it's summer, the hottest season of the year, the warmest part of the day and... You know, something that I can basically describe with words. ''Iris'' digital jazzed Mediterranism is little bit moody and total cinematic, another perfect example of duet's Balearic state of mind. The sound of vibes makes it like the twin sister of their earlier track ''Aquavivas''.On the other side BlackBush Orchestra's ''Beauty & The Beat'' may not be so #BalearicForYou. After the African 12'' last and its delightful slo-mo groove remixed by Kay Suzuki left back the East side of the Atlantic Ocean and charmed by Brazil. Their epic long ''Beauty & The Beat'' which occupies the whole side reminds me a lot @Mo' Horizons exotic and palm tree affairs. "Motmot" and "Iris" are really beautiful, unique sounding and subtly mystical, this is far more that what we call balearic. The "Beauty & The Beat" is maybe less emotional (I mean sophisticated one) and more on the journey side, still stunning, just on a different tip, which make this EP complete. Secret weapon written all over it, one of my favorite 12" this year.
