In my opinion, the greatest record ever, in any genre. But then, I have always loved Antonio Carlos Jobim's music, as well as the piano and esthetic of Ryuichi Sakamoto, so I fully expected this to be a beautiful record. However, I was not prepared for its transcendent beauty, with nearly every track giving me frisson and welling tears. I have given or lent this to many friends and family members, and almost every one came back to me saying the music made them weep. If you like bossa nova, especially without a lot of percussion, you will love this record.
