Elroy Bailey - Red Hot Dub FLAC download

Thanks for the comment iamthegorgon and the info about the source of the LP. I wondered if it was C1 tapes overdubbed somewhere as many of the riddims are standards of the era. I wouldn't call this as one of my favourite dub sets but it is a great LP to play when you want some easy listening dub without having a farmyard in an echo chamber along for the session.

It was the first dub LP i got in to. A friend taped it on one side of a C90 for me and I used to listen to it every morning when bicycling to school.

An easy-flowing dub selection with the emphasis on the music rather than sound effects. The guitars and saxophone get prominent treatment by the engineer, often joined by the rim shot at the front of the sound stage. No sleeve information but probably a Channel One recording with overdubs. Most likely with Sly and Robbie leading the a Revolutionaries line up. Worth adding to your collection if you're a lover of this clean-cut late Seventies dub sound.

I wouldn't think this is a Channel One /S&R recording since it's Ras Elroy Bailey of Black Slate fame producing the set and it doesn't JA. Rather likely it's an all-UK affair with some of the usual suspects such as Bailey, Kpiaye and Jah Bunny. Brilliant set none the less.
