Tight remix by The Hacker, with a very crisp drive. The original bassline riff is chopped up, making it more of a stab.Of course The Hacker has great respect for Altern 8 (and oldschool rave in general), so he includes the air raid siren as well as the original Radi-8 breakbeat.Adding some nice touches of his own (an industrial snare & some Kraftwerkian flourishes), this is a great remix. The Rennie Foster remix is a more understated affair. The acid bassline is brought to the fore, and it dominates the mix.Halfway through, a piano / strings section overtakes. It's a bit jarring compared to the aggressive nature of the first half, but it does have some clever samples. On the b-side, the remix by KiNK goes for glitchy Tech House with a shuffling rhythm. The original Radi-8 riff is brought up slowly, only really emerging on the final breakdown. It's not really my cup of tea, it teases and teases and never really satisfies. Finally is the remix by Neil Landstrumm, something of a legend in the Techno scene. He brings a lot of atmosphere to his mix, a very interesting listen full of quirky sounds and a deep hypnotic bassline. It's a million miles away from Rave "euphoria" but really works well in its own right.Overall a decent enough set of remixes, rightly featuring The Hacker as lead.
