Gigafish
Decent late 70's Punk, but at times sounding more like something from the early 70's; MC5, New York Dolls, Stooges, etc...."Search And Destroy" licks can be heard all over this album. There's a obvious Ramones / Dead Boys vibe felt here as well. At times Nick Nicholis' snarly vocals are a bit too much, but I guess that's expected when you're trying your hardest (too hard at times) to sound like somebody (everybody?) else. The keyboards/combo-organ are what sets this band apart form most Punk bands of the late 70's, giving them an almost mid-late 60's Garage Punk sound. The keyboardist (who also plays viola) is Terry Walker.Overall enjoyable (though somewhat derivative) album by this lesser known Akron OH band. I don't think it's ever been reissued on CD. I own this original pressing depicted here at Discogs, along with a gold stamped (back cover, top right corner) "Loaned For Promotional Use Only - Not For Sale" copy.
