Unfortunately, the copy that I purchased was misprinted very badly to the point that the sound was totally warped and all of the LPs had scuffs and scratches from the factory, so I returned it and didn't bother with another copy assuming that there are some bad batches in circulation. Even though the extra unreleased tracks would have been cool to have, I was only really interested in the regular album anyway, so I found a good copy of XL's regular release of OK Computer and I am very happy with it.

Can anyone tell me what resolution the download of the main tracks (Airbag to How I Made My Millions) in the box set? 24 Bit/ 96kHz WAV, 16 Bit/ 44.1 kHz WAV, MP3?
Risteacor
. . . they are all Mp3 files . . .

I'm amazed that so many people are saying their pressings are amazing. I don't have this release, but my experience with XL recordings LP's has generally been lousy. Kid A sounds thin, and the hole's a little off center. I thought the MP3 download sounded better! With my copy of Hvarf/Heim, the hole is REALLY off center on side B. My copy of Agaetis Byrjun is alright though.
ME
I have this box set, and:The records ain't so hot. Not gonna lie.

I’ve had both the normal USA release (two copies in fact) and this LE made in EU version. There’s a fair difference... my USA copies were bland and flat, no point in listening to them. This version isn’t as mind blowing as the 45rpm LE In Rainbows, but the sound is generally very good. Definitely a noticeable difference. The USA copies were pressed in the USA, at two different plants.
black coffe
Amazing sounding pressing. I can't imagine this sounding any better.
Jube
I've never heard a better mix of this album and I've heard or own all the significant pressings. For real. If you're a fan this is a must have.
Ochach
Same for me.The stereo image is impressive.Using the latest tech in tape mastering.
Whitestone
At the side-F, "How I Made My Millions", there's a strong scratch noise as well as blue vinyl. The pressing of the vinyls got worse since "A moon shaped pool". I'm so sad.
Marg
That distortion is actually on the original recording, it's not the problem of the pressing.

I reluctantly opened mine this morning (yes, I'm one of those guys who likes to keep things sealed).Has anyone else noticed that their small book is bound the wrong way round ? What I mean is, whenI opened the box, the embossed stamps on both books were facing out toward me, but the printinside (in the small book) is upside down. The larger book has the embossed stamp on the front as expected which is why I'm curious if thesmall one has been bound incorrectly. Not that it detracts from the beauty of the whole package. So glad I opened it, the vinyl sounds amazing. Can't believe it's been 20 years since I picked upthat very first release !
Eseve
Nevertheless, when ordered directly, i would contact W.A.S.T.E to send the right bound books.
Yramede
Pretty sure it's not a fake. Ordered direct through waste.
Ces
Cannot copy. Mine is bound correctly. Ordered directly from the W.A.S.T.E depot.Perhaps a fake ? I cannot believe, that the binding could be wrong for some releases.Where did you order ?

i returned from vacation today with the box waiting on me ... i excitedly unboxed it, ready to listen to a bit before turning in after 12 hours on the road. however, could not do so ... it was shipped without the vinyl, everything else is there, just no vinyl in the sleeves inside the book.i am so disappointed.
Rich Vulture
The opposite happened to me. I got the 3 records but no box set. I contacted the W.A.S.T.E. Help Desk and got a replacement set shipped to me within 3 days. Zero hassle at all. Hope things turn out ok!
Gribandis
i ordered from the Radiohead site the day preorders started.it shipped from Asendia in Pennsylvania. I have contacted the shipper and the artist's fulfillment contractor in England.i am hopeful they will make this right. it's just terribly disappointing, especially reading the reviews of how nice the deluxe vinyl sounds.$143 US and don't even receive the records. that's frustration.
Zulurr
Where did you order ? I preordered from the W.A.S.T.E. The LP's came from optimal media. Seperated. Perhaps your dealer only forgot to enclose the LPs ?
Foginn
Does anyone know what is the best pressing of this LP is? I I would have thought the original but has there been a better pressing since 1997?Thanks
RUL
After comparing the original release to the new one, for me OKNOTOK is state of the art mastering. They used the original tapes and used technology that simply was not available back in 1997. Only taking the new vinyl mastering possibilities using AD/DA conversion. I love both, but the new release will be my favorite one.
Keel
I got the 1st press and it sounds great. Much more grungy than the capitol re-release. However, I've not listened to this one on vinyl yet, as I don't have my turntable with me where I am living atm. But having listened to the Wave files, I think they are both worth owning personally. The original has more grunt to the guitars, but with the remaster more sounds comes through that I hadn't heard before, or not as clearly.I'm not sure if that is any help, but for me, I would listen to the remaster if I was going to listen to either now, unless feeling nostalgic.
Cerana
Question about the download code for the tape, what options were given? Is there a 24 bit download for the cassette or just standard 16 bit?
Kirizius
There is only 16-Bit for the tape portion. I promise 24-Bit isn't necessary for the tape.
Androrim
You can download 16 bit and 24 bit wav, aswell as the 16 bit wav tape version.
რฉςh
You have got the option for 24 Bit-WAV or MP3
Anen
As it's common to every new LP, you have to clean it before playing the first time. Residue is quite common due to the fact it's pressed ! Works for every vinyl. There was a lot of pressing residue on all three LPs. No problem after proper cleaning. Plays loud and clean. Super stereo resolution. Superb master IMHO. Congratulations. A must have for every fan !!!

Does anybody know how limited these are? How many of these boxes exist? Thanks!

Where to start with a "review" of one of my favorite albums, and an album that inspired me greatly as a song writer. Well, I guess the place to start would be the sonics of the remaster. The remastering is nice. I can fairly say that the drums are slightly more punchy and distinct, and Collin's Bass is more defined and specific in the mix. The pressing: my pressing is perfect. There is no noise, ticks or pops. The unreleased songs... they are cool. Not the best tracks, and I can understand why they where held back from release. The two art books: Honestly, nothing special. I can dig it that Thom is sharing is personal notes, but 20 years later, it provides way less impact then it would have at the time of the albums release. The Tape: This is pretty keen. I enjoyed this glimpse into the studio sessions, but it would have been better with more outtakes of some of the songs we already know and love from the LP. Over all, I would have been ok with just the three vinyls and the material on the tape pressed on a vinyl rather than a tape. Or, a 45RPM pressing of OK C and then just called it a day.
inetserfer
Mine arrived in perfect shape and sounds noticeably better than my blue vinyl... Didn't hear a single instance of surface noise on this EU pressing. The contents of the box are fantastic and worth the price alone in my opinion. This remaster still isn't my favorite pressing of OK Computer but as far as OKNOTOK is concerned, this is the copy to get.
