Wal
Bought most of their music on the back of seeing them live - i think at the barfly in Camden - listening to the album for the first time for over 20 years - its pretty special.

One of the hidden classics of trip-hop, Crustation’s Bloom is a deliciously dubwise album, full of shuffling beats and dreamy qualities. “Purple” injects a bit of pop peppiness into the proceedings, but the majority of the tracks take a darker route. “Face the Waves” and “Down Down” are like half-heard memories that you recall just as you wake up. Certainly, much of the album’s charm can be attributed to the lullaby-like vocals of Bronagh Slevin. Whether singing or speaking, Slevin’s Scottish burr provides a hazy focal point for the equally misty music. “Flame” is a twisted love song, while “Ride On” is a fairy-tale dirge, sad and moody. It’s an overlooked gem, to be sure.
