Really nice pressing, except for a minor skip during "Cindy Tastes of Barbecue"

I bought this album new on record store day. The record is perfectly flat and there is no sibilance, no clicks nor pops. On the other hand, my copy shows a surface noise through side A especially. There is also some distortion on side A. My lp record is not a significant improvement over my CD copy so beware before investing.

LOTS of noise on the entire A-side on my copy as well. A2 and A6 get a G+ listen grade - it's bad. B-side is NM but the noise remains however, thankfully much lower in db level and only within the tracks gaps. Shame about side one....

I’ve been waiting half my life for Luna to channel their way through the magical darkness after suffering the breakup of The Velvet Underground. And now to be bidding Luna goodbye with the release of "Rendezvous," yet again breaks my heart, and leaves me floating unfettered above this blue planet. If there is any consolation at all to be drawn from this disaster, it’s the wondrous and magnificent body of work left behind by Dean Wareham and his band ... this is music that will be swirling in my head for the rest of my life. I seriously doubt there will ever be another band to hover so close to the moon, with this much charm and grace. Having struck gold twice in one lifetime is probably more then I could have ever hoped for. This album is brilliant, these songs are the high point of any live performance, magnificently constructed, textured with guitar washes, notes that bend, and layered with sounds at both the high and low ends that totally engulf me. To try and place a genre on this music is nearly impossible ... if I were to simply call this Neo-Psychedelic or Shoegazer, I would be both on the mark, and off of it by a mile. Perhaps it would be better to describe this music as a feeling or a drug, because Luna certainly settles into the cortex of my brain, leaving me limp and wasted. Please blow out the candles before you leave, I want to lay here and watch the orange moon move across the sky for a little while longer.
