I have a lot of trouble getting into Notes From the Underground. The production on the tape is REALLY lo-fi and muddy to my ears, even for Macro, which kind of ruins a lot of the material for me. It's chaotic and I can sense there are a lot of layers and a certain density, however the overall mix is so muddy it's hard to appreciate the nuances of what's going on. I always come back to it, hoping I'll change my mind, but I haven't yet after a few years. I've seen others mention it among their favorites, however I can't say the same.
