"I get high in the morning, I get higher in the afternoon, and in the evening time, oh how I am high! Oh how can you go all through the day without you once, during that day, turning on?"

"Vee are just doing are jobs!...Vee are just doing are jobs!"I've always loved this LP, and hearing that line from "Field Day" really takes me back. There are some great songs on here, including a really freaky version of The Mothers of Invention's "Oh No ( I don't beleive it)". This version is not for the squeamish, as it's a total freak-out. Other songs like "Field Day" and "Plastic Rat" are excellent examples of acid laden psychedelic rock also. And of course there's the classic countrified "Don't Bogart Me", synonymous with the motion picture Easy Rider. The band consisted of ex 'Lowell George and the Factory' alumni; Elliot Ingber (who was also a short-time member of The Mothers for their 'Freak Out' LP), Warren Klein, Martin Kibbee, and Ritchie Hayward...later to form Little Feat with Lowell George.Lowell George never appeared on this LP, though he and pianist Bill Payne are credited on the 2nd Fraternity Of Man LP. Elliot eventually underwent a name-change for his stint in Captain Beefheart's Magic Band...enter Winged Eel Fingerling.I bought a CD version of this a few years ago, and was disgusted by the poor sound quality and transfer. Even though this was not one of the better recorded albums of it's time, the original vinyl on ABC Records sound much nicer than any CD reissue I've heard thus far.
