My comments really refer to the quality and character of the vinyl pressing. I'm not really a fan of this band, but have liked some of the stuff I've heard over the years. This LP was done in swirly pink candy colored vinyl, but alas, is not a very silent pressing so quiet passages suffer a little. It's not as bad as it could be as the music largely masks the ticks and pops. The mastering is solid with good dynamics and excellent bass-- are labels FINALLY realizing that hyper-compressed (brickwalled) vinyl mastering is an oxymoron? I swear that I'm hearing a trend in better vinyl mastering on new releases these last couple of years. I'll say it again-- if your premium (and most expensive) product is cheaply made you will eventually make a name for yourself as a brand that does not give a shit about its customers. Excuses aside, when people drop $20-30 on a single album you would think quality control would be on the short list of things to get right-- but in 2018 that is STILL the exception to the rule. So if you get a dud-- TAKE IT BACK. It's the only power you have as a consumer and the only thing that will make the labels listen. Still this LP is a very pretty little thing!
You totally nailed it Wes! Not every vinyl buyer is into it because its F*cking trending or hip, and the labels need to realize this. Your correct, people have a memory of poor pressings and there's way too many new releases out there that have issues.
