the Original Mix in this release sounds slightly (to my ears) faster than the original version featured on the "Wots My Code EP" ...moreover, this one starts with a vocal sample that I can't figure out what it says while the other one begins with the beats straightforwardly.

For being such a good listener, here's a bonus trackhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdxoANTYcjY

Am sure that little additional vocal said something like "and for being such good listeners, here's a bonus track". Been a while since I heard this mix though. Definitely at a faster tempo. Maybe to fit in with '93 BPMs?

Will second the platitudes given out to the 'Simply Rolling Remix' of 'Dubplate'. From the long, teasing intro beats to the the dub bassline and 'whistling' sound effects. This mix just obliterates the already excellent original version, and this is all before the rolling amen break kicks in alongside Eek A Mouse's legendary vocals from his 'Wah Do Dem' track. The essence of early jungle distilled into one track. The 'Technical Timestretch' remix hints at strong influences from Ray Keith's then partner in crime, Nookie. With it's lush string sounds and soft bass pads on the intro. This is then invigorated by speed-freak breakbeats to create a hardcore-as-hell reworking. The last remix, 'Just Jump Around' is my least favourite version, not that it's too shabby though. It contains more elements of the original mix and has some nice timestretching effects on the breaks. To top it off, after an introductory, sped up recording of 'After being such good listeners, here's a bonus track' you then get the original 'Dubplate' to compare versions. An EP of variations of the same track, but still an absolutely essential one at that.

Ray Keith's "Simply Rolling Remix" is a classic. The first time I heard that tune I fell in love with it and even today I still find myself listening to it all the time. It gives so many good memories of great raves and just being totally immersed in the music back in the day, it's a feel good anthem. Production wise, this is a class act by Mr. Keith and the ever reliable Nookie. Great rolling beat (plus the good ol' Amen), THAT bassline (so memorable) and those sweet thought provoking strings and piano. All the ingredients are there for a great tune and the boys delivered. Sometimes I just leave this tune on repeat, over and over again...
