Effervescent Elephants - Something To Say (1987) Effervescent Elephants were one of the best bands in the neo-sixties Italian scene of the ’80, surely one of the few bands to be adornedthemselves with the term “Psychedelic”. The name of the band comes out from a tune by Sid Barrett, called “Effervescent Elephant”. The band operated in a vital moment of underground music in Italy, in which many bands at the same time to what was happening in The U.S.A. and in Scandinavia, decided to go back to sonorities of ’60 matrix to react to the excessive coldness of New Wave music, which used to rule in that period. It was a kind of backward full immersion in Garage-Punk and Psychedelic sonorities. A band that must not be surely forgotten also because psychedelia was a reason for their existence..-.
