These recordings have been transfered to tape from transcription discs made in thirties for radio station use, and from transcriptions of live broadcasts in the forties. While every effort has been made for minimize imperfections, some surface noise remains. To have eliminated it completly would have been to distort the original sound caracteristics of the instrument.
