Does anyone possess the original from 1973 on "Riverside" Label?

This album is to my ears one of the best folk releases of the 60s-70s and that's competing with quite a huge library of other artists (unfortunately not on vinyl as I have only recently started collecting). By no means a happy album, Isolation sounds constantly desolate with light sprinklings of hope which is most likely owed to the recording/production value alongside the general structures and themes of the songs themselves. Not exactly an album for group listening either, this seems to be a very personal and introspective album that I'd personally say was best suited to listen to alone. Unfortunately it would seem that the Fanny repressing isn't of the highest quality; either that or the originals haven't aged too well. The vinyl itself isn't exactly horrendous - not heavyweight by any means but certainly isn't horrendously flimsy. The issue lies with some pops and cracks which I can only imagine were present on the remaining copies of the 1973 mentioned by black-shuck below. The issue doesn't occur due to static, poor quality audio-setup or general wear as I'm using a quality system, just recently unsealed album and anti-static methods. It seems the digital versions uploaded to Youtube also show these issues. That being said, it's hardly a distracting factor and isn't overly present to an extent that it removes major listening pleasure; I'd never find myself in a position to get rid of this album now, it's just too gorgeous. I'd be over the moon for a better quality copy of the original to surface in hopes for another repress though.. I'm still dumbfounded by the fact that with only 500 pressed that there are still multiple copies of this available for $40 or so; this is an absolute masterpiece and a lost gem. It would just seem that not enough have been exposed.. This is sure to become a cornerstone of the acid folk genre in years to come, or perhaps we're at the date now where the acid folk fan base is not expanding at such a rate that it seemed to be during the 90s, supply is exponentially decreasing as rich collectors are able to pay incredible sums for albums they never plan to sell so it's a difficult ladder to start climbing. We can only hope that represses come about for such scarce and beautiful pieces..I've rambled on enough now. Just listening to this album for the first time in a few weeks and felt the need to talk on it a bit. Really magnificent piece that will only continue to develop listening value for myself.

the above are reissues of a british private pressing originally issued on riverside in 1973, original pressings have plain white sleeves with ISOLATION stencilled in black capital letters across the top of the front sleeve, and included stapled a4 lyric sheets. the belgian issue is a bootleg, the other two may also be unofficial. i owned the first example found and sold it to a belgian collector in 1992 or 1993, the bootleg appeared shortly after this, the artwork is not original to the lp.

This is not the "real name Clinton Francis" Isolation, lol.

Delicate, melancholic folk in the vein of Nick Drake and Stone Angel, with sober and jazzier arrangements. The album is impressively light and discreet, think of a more relaxed, disillusioned and jamming "Astral Weeks." It also reminds me of Ithaca and Dr. Strangely Strange in some parts. I've made 4 big comparisons but I really think Isolation's LP is on their level.
