Ralph Dollimore - Piano Dimensions FLAC download

Bit of a ragbag of an lp but when the trio are on form the form is formidable, almost modal, jazz. Whisper Not, Something To Remember You By and Shuffle Baby would be my three top picks. The last in that list is a Dollimore original, it's the only one on the album and that's a shame. Because it is a cracker. The quality of the song selection is up and down throughout. As you might expect from this label sometimes it does veer into tacky territory. But that should be overlooked, there is some great three piece jazz to be found here.

I was expecting more of a easy listening style LP. But instead it's a good, "real" jazz trio album, if that matters any. Great find methinks. Nothing innovative for sure. But if you like 60's piano trio jazz with contemporary songs with no avantgarde style you won't go amiss. I enjoy it a lot.
