Scintilla - Be Smiley With The Medicine Man FLAC download

Some say that this album is almost a copy of Fatboy Slim's style. This is just partly true.Fatboy Slim is primarily big beat, I mean PHAT beats. Moreover, it's often a bit more repetitive.But "Be Smiley With The Medicine Man" isn't like that. Just compare this and "Better Living Through Chemistry" and you will understand.Despite this fact, this CD by Todd Christenen, who is based in the US under the Scintilla moniker, is lovely. It has a very chilling atmosphere, perfectly demonstrated with "Jasmine's Garden". Those basslines, horns, keyboards, 303s and 808s... you can't get enough ! The power of the beats is very well dosed. Therefore, it reminds more of The Future Sound Of London or The Chemical Brothers than Norman Cook (except "Jump Up And Be Smiley" and "Mainline The Groove", maybe).I definitely recommend this CD, first and foremost for these beauties which are "Jasmine's Garden", "Misty Morning Rump" and my favorite "Medicine". It's that good.The only criticism I would have is that the volume is pretty low, so if you download the CD content to your MP3 player, you won't hear very well.
