I hadn't heard this one until now, what a plate - bleeping bass is fantastic, I love the dirt over the reese-like noise and the high-pitched whistle tones throughout. I'm sure I recognise that really deep sub that comes in, I think the melody of that was pinched in a much later drum n bass track. Environmental health; nice mentasm workout, I have not heard any ratty sets with it in as others have mentioned on here but I can say it totally fits the bill.Lovey Dovey, a stab line that went on to be quite iconic I suppose!

A1 Bleeping Bass was a spelling mistake the trax should have read Bleeding Bass

Ratty roughly (but perfectly) dropped Enviromental Health at Fantazia 91-92 and torn the crowd a new asshole.

Great ep. Sounds much like 1992 though.

Might sound like 92 to you. IMO it doesn't sound like 1992 at all, pure 1991 style. And it really is 1991. Played from at least the latter part of the summer of 1991 to early 1992 in many sets. Got myself a copy from Autumn 1991. Proper 1991 track.

made on an amiga computer and octamed music program with only 4 channels , no sampler and no effects a good ear could tell there is clashing and timing errors going on but sound good on the massive rave sound systems when droped by carl cox ratty loft groover ect , what a buzz it was to here your own tune dropped by the top djs of the time

A2 Environmental Health has been sampled by Dave Charlesworth for the Energizer series, and Tango/ Fallout's 'Violator'

A truly seminal release, mirroring the euphoria and no-rules experimental abandon of the early UK rave scene in '91. Kicking off with reversed echoed orgasmic female wailing, you know you're in for a trippy ride, as track one goes through more twists and turns than a bunch of snakes in a bucket of spaghetti. The second track, which despite the information given above, should be "Environmental Health", is a seething mass of dark hoovers and bloopy synths, with a weird off-kilter bass line that gives the track an ominous paranoid edge. Flip it over and "Lovey Dovey" takes you on a beautiful slowly rotating glide through outer space, with a blissful little sampled organ figure popping in and out over echoed programmed drums, some lovely female coos and sighs and some very strange noises in the background. The final track has less variation but builds on an hypnotic riff of what sounds like a choir of muted trumpets, until things become very intense indeed. All in all, a totally essential and unashamedly ecstasy soaked early hardcore four tracker.
