(Denny King and his B.O. Boogie band hails from the southern californian desert..the High Desert! Beefheart's Magic Band also was charming the rattlesnake there!! ruff-hewn Blues-rockin' chiller w/a heart for savage Boogie-rolls, slide- & lead guitar by Alex St.Claire (of MAGIC BAND-fame!) Denny's voice stands next to the grumblin' art of Van Vliet himself ("boogie man" (5:10) reveals exactly what these dudes are about) ..."desert sand" is toxic melodic ear-piercer w/haunting fuzz-tone; a real burner this is!!)
