This is probably the most consistent Cocoon Compilation along with C. I prefer this because of the strong and often melodic Tracks. From the opener Hells outstanding 'Jack My Body' the goodies keep coming. Whignomy Brothers, Sven's Collaboration with Anthony Rother has the Magic the title claims. Dexter's Acid Lullaby is nice for what it is Neo-Acid-Elektro , Hugg & Pepp's Partymakers is better. The highlight for me comes with Pascal EOS "Ausklang" a well rounded affair between the straight Techno of the 90ies and the 2005 minimal precision and understatement. Özgur Can delivers a Neo Trance hymn that sets big Dancefloor on Fire and was hammered on many Raves around sunrise time... STEN, Eulberg, Holden and Ananda all stand for the new sound of the Cocoon, that is very melodic and sounds more like GOA or NEO Trance then Schranz, If you like this style or not. The quality of these Songs is beyond doubt. An album of Transistion. I like esp. that you get both on one Compilation : "Real" Techo and minimal Neo Trance... This is exactly the link betwen the Techno Compis A, B & C and the Neo Trance Compilations F and G. Chances are you'll like either A-C or F & G, but if you are open minded there is enough quality for you to be found on E..

I was first drawn to Compilation E, by one track; Holden's 'The Wheel' - featured on Holden's Mix Comp 'Balance 005' in late 2003. Real Holden fans will know the track well. Besides that track there are other gems too; The Wighnomy Brothers name keeps popping up in 2005 - this is because their immaculate production resonates quality. And being a fan of the previous works, adds yet more sentiment. Two other producers that stand out from this compilation are Dominik Eulberg and Hugg & Pepp. Eulberg's album 'Flora & Fauna' is quite a favourite of mine; fusing pulsing beats (cliché i know), and crisp melody. This name should be one to watch for a few years to come. Hugg & Pepp are another outfit that order attention from the record box. 'Trosa' from their 'Betongkeps EP' was a hit for everyone from Holden to Eulberg's sets and 'Partymakers' is no acception!! A nice all-round package that should have something for everyone. Limited copies though! But try to get it...Worth every EURO!

A really great compilation which documents track by track, what revolutionary changes the recent "techno" sound has gone through in 2005. All is there: abstract minimalism, new-school acidhouse, progressive house merging with percussive techno, and a lot of melodies flying around. I couldn't name any personal favourites on here, because really all tracks are smashers on their own. To me it's the best Cocoon compilation so far.
