A very interesting EP. The title track, bUnker, seemed a bit short for me but rewarding none-the-less. It conjures up soulful trips into a past of dark and long forgotten memories, cutting across the airwaves like a stumbling and broken automaton shedding old bolts and nuts and sparks that illuminate a dark corridor of an abandoned alleyway. τrip comes off as schizophrenic, unbalanced, and frayed like the tattered cloth of wedding dress that has seen too much light of day. But somewhere in the insanty of persistence it finds itself. Confidence emerges, structure forms, echoes of the past bring substance to it all.nessova opens with a straightforward IDM beat, complex, chorus, drum, the sound of metal on metal, and a pattern to follow. But the pattern evolves and then devolves, re-organizes, clicks back into life, and emerges not like the butterfly from the caterpillar, but like a smooth Cordyceps fungus bursting forth from the head of the ghost moth in a dark Nepalese forest. Transcendence but not graceful. More like obliteration during a sunset. rubico acid, begins with a dance, a sweeping phase on lightly, and a chorus emerges, like the last farewell to an old group of soldiers marching into their last battle. There is a weight upon it all. A push comes from the side, an intensity, a distortion, brief frenzy, and then breakdown. PTSD in an IDM pulsewave, until it captures harmony again and fades away.FX Mod DAISY CHAIN 5o (Provatron's panevropi '98 remix) - opens like traditional 98 drum and base, insane mutterings, the pulse direction of overlord tones, harmonics, long waves, intermittent iterations, and the story of the Dance of the Robot and the Child. Bright chrome, gears in motion, flashing lights. And La La La the innocence injected to contrast the confusion that is the robot, dancing, emitting strong waves of complex rhythm, fast and furious, and La La La, the child only sings in return. The discussion, voices, evaluation, a protest of innocence, and the robot continues the pattern, unfazed, for the child programmed it only to rebel while she continues La La La, and the judges are phased. It goes on. La La La la la. As far as how I judge this album to the rest of the discography, it holds it's own. But it doesn't quite have the alien, angelic, and deeply structured beats of prior albums. That's a good thing. Because while the angel's choir sings on, we need the dark contrast of the demon's lament to give it all the more importance. Certainly worth the very fair prices available at the moment.
