Hilariously good pressing! Beautiful gatefold. Very very very quiet disc. A slight bit of edge warping but does not affect play at all and was likely a result of intl shipping. Highly recommend!

I have this, and it's still plagued by more surface noise than there should be, though not as terrible as Tenebre. But it's still a lot, and it's a pity since the master itself is well done.Plus one mine the labels were centered by a drunk sailor.

What's the difference between this and the other japanese pressing? The other one is not gatefold either.

Great package , same old master as ever. It's a Little bit shameful how much death waltz stuff is now halfass compared to waxwork etc.

That impression is in your head because the Death Waltz was pressed from the same metal parts as AMS. That is to say, they are precisely the same grooves on the record.

try to compare it with the original ... its worlds apart ... im selling all my deathwaltz mondo stuff .. the old beat up records sound 100 times better

Oh yeah? I compared this to my 2010-ish copy from AMS and I found it to be a superior listen.

just to let you know .. i compared the deathwaltz pressings with the original pressings or re-pressings from the original label .. the deathwaltz sound is not even close to the originals .. most of the time its even moreflat then a cd .. ..if you want quallity get the dagored version ... and for future stuff get the WAXWORK records pressings ... :-)

Can anyone please tell how THIS pressing sounds? Most of the AMS/Cinevox Goblin-reissues of lately were terrible. Especially 'Tenebre' from 2012 has surface noise all over ... A damn shame, if they would continue with this low quality.

I've compared them all (yes, really) and the original UK pressing on EMI is the clear winner with the French Barclay pressing being a close second. The original Cinevox LP was too bright for me. Newer reissues are just from CD masters and don't compare to the original pressings I'm referring to. Of course, it all depends on your ears and what system you're listening to it on.

I prefer the original Cinevox pressing for sound quality. The wax is nice and thick (though not quite 180 grams) and it has incredible dynamics. The easy runner up, in my opinion, is the Japanese Odeon pressing. The high quality vinyl = a dead quiet noise floor. Perhaps a touch more bright sounding than the Cinevox, but that is easily rectified with the tone knobs! The French Barclay pressing is also great and has strong dynamics and a unique jacket design (if that is also of interest).

I caught this movie on amazon Prime, expecting a B movie. The movie was good, and the soundtrack was very atmospheric. It's going to be great playing in the background during the next Halloween.

This entry is erroneous. The picture is of a 7" 45rpm release, but the track listing is for the LP.

If this is the picture disc, then it's the one I have. It sounds pretty good. A bit more surface noise than most of my vinyl, but the audio is nice and clean. My tonearm moves left to right a little, indicating that the hole might not be perfectly center. The pitch variation is more apparent on some tracks than others.

I notice quite a lot of distortion throughout this pressing, as if it was mastered too hot. I cleaned the LP and even lowered the tracking force on my turntable, but the distortion persisted. It is most easily heard on Death Valzer, which is just solo acoustic piano and should, in theory, have no distortion at all. It's not even a "loud" track.Has anyone else noticed this, or do I somehow have a bad copy?

i really love that pressing and also the dawn of the dead pressing by the lable .. no clue what the proble is about

i don't like dagored presses but thats what we had to live with until the AMS/Cinevox ones came out. I noticed distortion and also needle skipping. I am not sure what the condition the masters are in either.

I don't own this specific release but have similar experiences with other Goblin reissues, they sound like shit to be frank which is really disappointing. When you pay a relatively high price for a reissue you expect the sound quality to be superior to the OG pressings.

Over all I would have to say that "Suspiria" is Goblin's bestwork, and certainly their darkest sounding at least to my ears.A great Lp to start with if you are new to their music.
