Does anyone know why this is banned from being sold on discogs?

@dizkord, vonLeers um yeah but like someone else mentioned down below the girl on the cover is 18+ according to the artist... so with all due respect, what both of you have stated honestly doesn't make a whole lot of logical sense with that kept in toe since this project is meant to be extremely provocative from the very beginning, more or less is without a doubt not for the faint-hearted, but that should be obvious. For example, just look at the insert that comes in the release titled 'Arthur Shawcross' by Macronympha, and yet that isn't banned in the marketplace. However regardless of the context, one thing is for sure which is mainly that Discogs REALLY NEEDS TO STOP blatantly going out of their way to outwardly ban as well as censor a handful of random artists (a good portion of them in the Avant-garde scene in general) just because they are transgressive or aberrant, or like half the time for seemingly no reason at all. It's just plain bias, if not downright fascism.

pretty dumb in my opinion considering the other shit they let slide. all this does is make the releases way more rare and way more expensive

what the other guy said basically. theres child porn on the front cover, the entire project is borderline based on pedophilia

Just take a look at the whole concept of this project (titles etc.). Highly controversial to put it mildly. Nevertheless it's quite easy to buy from the label's site.Greetings

Despite being better know than a lot of noise artists, Nicole 12's work doesn't impress me that much usually. This release in particular, is so awful in my opinion, I felt compelled to comment on it. There's no real point in commenting on the tracks separately, they are all fairly standard noise tracks with creepy, distorted vocals and subject matter obsessed with sexual perversion, and I am hard pressed to say much else as there is nothing to distinguish this CD from the hordes of other groups unsuccessfully trying their hand at Power-Electronics/Noise right now. These noises/themes have been used to death, and continue to be used and explored in much more interesting ways. Just because something is as "offensive" as possible (kiddie-porn cover-art, themes of prostitution, pedophilia so on, so on, etc., etc.), and 'difficult' does not make it worthwhile, or good. I also sincerely hope that the track "Ballerina" especially is intended to be comical, and downright laughably silly and pretentious because if so, Nicole 12 has succeeded immensely with the twinkling piano in the background and the low, "I'm so scary", Laibach-type vocals. Sometimes, when artists go out of their way to shock, or to probe the "darker side of humanity", the result, much like this CD, is simply boring, and in the case of "Substitute", laughable too. Naked child on the cover, songs with pedophiliac lyrics, samples of whores talking, it's all been done before, much better, by many others. Considering it would probably have to take actual rape and murder by these artists to shock most people who listen to a lot of noise/PE (myself included, not that I'm advocating either), releases like this just make me go "oh please, and?". At least if artists like Nicole 12 are going to continue indulging in subject matter like this, they could make it a lot more interesting, different, and less laugh-inducing. What's worse is this is one of those releases people pay tons of money for (currently selling for $33 to $60 here on discogs). Sometimes I think people will applaud anything horrible, if it's on the right record label, is gross enough, with shocking enough lyrics or cover art etc., despite the music being a total waste of time. It won't be long before some noise artist just tries selling a blank CDR taped to the inside cover of a kiddie porn mag as evidence of their own sheer 'musical brilliance', it would probably be released on Freak Animal's sublabel 'Institute for Paraphilia Studies", and people would trade it online for $100 a piece. But that's something that would be just a tad TOO obvious I'm sure...Nicki Minaj's "Stupid Hoes" is more shocking.

What exactly did Merzbow do? I’m unfamiliar with what you must be talking about.

alessio_m Chelsea1979, i don't want to sound rude, but i think you completely missed the point of DirtyDisco's review… LOL Um no? Just how exactly did I 'miss' it? Haha and what was the 'point' you are referring to? To be quite frank with you, there seriously wasn't much of a logical/rational point either within, or about the OP's laughably downright ignorant, fatuous excuse of a 'review' to begin with dude, so there really was nothing for me to 'miss' in the first place. I mean FFS, why listen to something when you know you hate it, more or less go to great lengths to try to voice your insipid, denigrative opinion on it when you clearly don't understand anything at all not only about the artist, the album, the artwork, but as well as even the concept in addition to Power Electronics/Avant-Garde/Underground music in general? Don't you realize that usually when this happens, all you do is just end up unintentionally embarrassing yourselves in the process? In all sincerity, easily offended/triggered, overly-sensitive people should steer clear from Transgressive Art, Music, Film, etc. like or similar to this since it's clearly not for everyone, though that should be obvious as it's not rocket science. Hell, I've been listening to this music since I was in the 6th grade, around 13 years old, and I've been composing it since I was in the 7th grade as it helped me cope so needless to say I know what I'm talking about. No joke. Like I said before, it's most certainly not for most people, though if only for those with the strongest of stomachs in addition to stone-cold nerves. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I know it's your opinion and everything, but I must say (not intentionally trying to sound rude or anything, just being bluntly honest) that you missed the point of this release as well as the artist himself, if not completely. Though of course this stuff certainly isn't for everyone, especially those like yourself that evidently are faint-hearted & are easily provocative/offended, but you're genuinely not the only one to have a similar concern with Nicole 12, so I can understand as the subject matter is rather extreme. However let's agree to disagree.

Actually that girl on the cover is 18+ according to the artist.
