'While the album only carries the name SUPERSTAR, it is short for MARK E. SUPERSTAR.

Out of the 25 tracks on the album, only 12 are listed on the cassette insert.

Audio snippets from the 1973 film The Taking of Pelham One-Two-Three are heard between songs.

"Eyeball" is "Eyeball from the Socket of Davis" and is an outtake from the Unrest album Kustom Karnal Blackxploitation. It features Mark Robinson reading a passage from Sammy Davis, Jr.'s biography Yes I Can with lounge-style piano music by Dave Park.
"Empire" and "Rip-Off" are early versions of the song "Imperial" which later appeared on Unrest's Imperial f.f.r.r. album.
"ChDemo" is a demonstration recording of "Cherry Cherry" from on Unrest's Cherry Cherry 7" 45 r.p.m. vinyl single.

The copyright date on the cassette insert is 1991, even though the album was released in 1990.
