It’s a mesmerising 9mins of the highest quality production, casting layer upon layer of sweeping synths until the tune carries you away in the breathtaking second half. This production dances effortlessly across a series of very delicate lines: powerful without being bombastic; subtle yet progressive; melodious but without a clear tune until the halfway mark; DJ friendly, but demands to be blended with care. The production is so assured that the last minute is beatless, inviting the DJ to construct a new beginning from the swirling melodies this track leaves behind, or to leave it as the breathless conclusion to an uplifting set. Like most trance acts, Kamil Polner has a particular sound. “Heart Of Sun” is that career-defining release where all of the components of the artist’s sound come together in a moment of brilliance.
