Tune - Change The Beat FLAC download

A great release by the legendary Jochem Paap on R & S Records, which has everything you'd want from a techno record anno 1991; it's challenging music, which has in store a lot for both, your mind and feet! The title track is a great melodic, light tune from back in the day (think Speedy J's Evolution or Rise), with a dominant kick and bass line, but despite their irresistible groove, the main focus is on the amazing chords and harmony. Tonight is a bouncy track with a combination of a lead hook getting tangled in with acid synths, while the pace is not too fast either, just ideal for you to nod your head along. It's not really a party track per se (alla Pull Over), but it does have a really catchy lead which is pulled all the way through, interrupted only by some great breaks. The last tune is a more subtle acidic track, with a constantly present 303 in the background, while a really orchestral melody slowly paves its way to the front row. It's amazing how both, the acid synths and the lead, keep morphing and evolving during the whole track. At times loud and emphasized, at times more laid back and just floating, the track just doesn't make long stops and keeps on going wherever you'd like to be. Anyways, not as nearly as talked about as his early Plus 8 releases, but if you like his Evolution and Rise 12" from the era, I see no possible reason why this shouldn't be a part of your collection.
